Telephone Consultations

Do you struggle to get an appointment with a GP due to your working hours?

Has there been a time when a quick chat on the phone with the GP might have helped but you can't take calls in the middle of the day?

If so, our new extended hours service might be just the thing to help you.

We are now offering telephone consultations between 7.30 - 8.00 am on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings and from 6.30pm - 7.00pm on Monday and Thursday evenings To book a telephone appointment please call reception.

The GP will then telephone you on the day of your appointment at the allocated time. Please leave a landline number wherever possible as this will be a new cost to the practice and mobile charges are significantly higher.

This service is only suitable for certain conditions and healthcare needs, you may still be required to attend for tests and monitoring that cannot be undertaken on the telephone.

The service is not designed for medication requests, requests for letters or reports to be undertaken and cannot be provided to patients who are outside of the UK for any duration.

Travelling abroad?

Don't forget your vaccines!

Please collect a travel form from reception or download a copy from the leaflet section of our website. Once complete, please return the form to the practice and make an appointment to see the nurse for advice at least 8 weeks before you travel.

A minimum of 8 weeks' notice is required as we may need to order vaccines for you and certain medications need to be taken two weeks before travel, however for those with a multi-stop itinerary please note that a minimum of 12 weeks' notice is required.

Helpful information can be found at: http://www.fitfortravel.nhs.uk/home

All GP practices are required to declare the mean net earnings (eg. Average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice. This is required in the interests of the greater public accountability recognising GP pay is ultimately funded from tax paid by the public.

The average pay for GPs working for Bow Medical Practice in the last financial year was 58,311 before tax and national insurance. This is for 1 full time GP and 3 part time GPs.
